The recession continues to hit American families hard, leaving them in need of money to meet recurring expenditures. Even the cost of putting children through public schools becomes an issue when supplies and other back to school buying items are considered. 2010 NC tax free weekend will help numerous families get some fast cash in North Carolina.
NC 2010 tax free weekend starts August 6 and ends August 8
Anybody hoping for quick payday will benefit from tax free weekend NC 2010. Although one school supply isn’t too costly, a long list of them could be pricey. Not having to pay sales tax can make a big difference for financially disadvantaged families. The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that numerous retailers are getting in the spirit and running sales on school items to help even more.
Selling like crazy will be all the pencils and paper. As outlined by an Office Max supervisor in Buncombe County, North Carolina, Nicole Lawrence, who talked to the Citizen-Times, “It’s insanity around here. Tax-free weekend is busier than Black Friday for us. It’s that way for most office supply stores.”.
Buying for school carefully
School supplies may not be the only thing on your list for that weekend. Buying can be better at stores with more than just school supplies such as clothing or sporting good stores. Remember, less driving means less gasoline consumed. Check ads to compare prices before buying. Don’t wait whenever you know the item will sell fast. Perhaps most importantly, have patience. Stores can be busy, and good will is always appreciated.
For those who need additional help
An option is provided to those who need help financially more than just a tax free weekend in North Carolina. Such programs as Eblen Kimmel Charities’ “Tools for Schools” program provides some school supplies for families in need, Communications Director Jan Blunt of Buncombe County Schools told the Citizen-Times. Grade level and social security number are the two things required for this program. 50 Westgate Parkway is where Eblen Kimmel’s office is where supplies can be picked up on August 16. The Ingles market on Tunnel Road between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on August 11 is where and when you may donate school supplies to the charity.
